Background
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) identified the need to reserve a 50-m Southern Utility Corridor (SUC) between Fort McMurray and the Hamlet of Anzac, to meet current needs and promote long term growth of the region. Hatfield undertook the environmental assessment and permitting of the South East 881 Supply Line Project that includes the 40-km long SUC and routes to connect a watermain and fibre optic cable to the SUC.
Services Provided
Hatfield provided baseline studies, environmental assessment, permitting and construction monitoring for the project. Hatfield led the environmental input to the design of the project, conducted the required environmental and historical assessments, fulfilled the environmental regulatory requirements, and provided environmental oversight of the construction phase.
