Forestry

February 5, 2020 by

Hatfield supports sustainable forest management, providing scientific research, planning and consulting services, and data and analytical tools to support effective decision-making. Our experience extends from temperate and boreal forests in North America to humid and dry tropical forests and mangroves in Southeast Asia and Southern Africa.

We help the forestry sector and related sectors such as palm oil, mining, and energy production, address national and international sustainable forest management requirements and opportunities, including high conservation value (HCV) assessment, reduced emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+), and certifications.

Our support to the forestry sector includes a range of innovative technical solutions and scientific services, such as carbon stock assessment and wildfire fuels assessment using remote sensing (including drones, LiDAR, and satellite platforms), hydrology and watershed management, socio-cultural assessment and valuation, training and capacity-building programs, and Indigenous Peoples engagement.

Why Hatfield?

Hatfield works collaboratively with our clients and project stakeholders to provide cost-effective, innovative, and sustainable forest management services. From local, project-specific needs to national and international initiatives, we bring together a unique range of technical expertise to address our clients’ specific forest management challenges and requirements.
