Hatfield wins European Space Agency contract
Jan 10, 2004
In December 2003, HCL was awarded a one-year contract under the European Space Agency’s (ESA’s) Earth Observation Envelope Program (EOEP). Hatfield Consultants Ltd. (HCL) (Canada) is the prime contractor for this project, and is supported by Apolloni Virtual Studio (Italy); ÆRDE Environmental Research (Canada); DHI (Denmark); ACRI-st (France); and Strata360 (Canada).
The goal of the project is to determine the impact of the main market drivers influencing the fisheries/aquaculture sectors and elaborate appropriate Earth Observation (EO) responses. This will be achieved through conducting an in-depth analysis and developing a broad understanding of the various market forces that are shaping the aquaculture industry in the near to medium term. The knowledge of these emerging market forces will allow us to identify opportunities for the application of modern EO technologies and the development of customized services.
“This innovative project builds on thirty years experience within the fisheries/aquaculture sectors and extensive geomatics expertise gained from working with the Canadian Space Agency,” said Thomas Boivin, President of HCL.
