Hatfield announces Martin Davies as our new President

Nov 04, 2024

We are delighted to announce Martin Davies as the new President of Hatfield.

Martin replaces Garth Taylor who is retiring after nearly 28 years with Hatfield, including the last five years as President. In his new role, Martin is supported by Adeline Saito, Senior Vice-President, and Andy Dean, Vice-President, and an exceptional Corporate Management Team.

Martin joined Hatfield in 1993 as an Environmental Specialist, leveraging his degrees in marine biology and environmental studies with work experience in the pulp and paper industry to support Cycle One studies of the national Environmental Effects Monitoring program, work he continues to support today. Martin later broadened his environmental monitoring and assessment experience to projects in metal and coal mining, energy, and oil sands industries and for governments and Indigenous communities.

Martin’s extensive international work includes co-leading Hatfield’s Indonesian operations from 2000 to 2003, and project work in Vietnam, Thailand, Lao PDR, Timor Leste, China, and Australia; he continues to support Hatfield Indonesia today as a company director. Following Martin’s return to Canada in 2003, he became a Partner and member of Hatfield’s corporate leadership team, where he has played a crucial role in Hatfield’s growth and development, concentrating on corporate management, technical excellence, and building our caring and down-to-earth work culture.

Like many senior leaders at Hatfield, Martin’s career is a testament to the opportunities the company provides for individual career growth and development from junior to the most senior levels. He embodies the hard work, client focus, and pursuit of excellence shared by Hatfield’s Partners. Please join us in congratulating Martin on his new role. Under his leadership, Hatfield will continue to focus on high quality and ethical work, fostering partnerships, developing science-based solutions for ecosystems and communities, and enriching lives within and beyond our organization.

Hatfield would like to thank Garth for his exceptional contribution to Hatfield over the past 28 years, which includes serving as Vice-President and President of Hatfield in Indonesia and Canada and making a positive impact well beyond the company. You will be missed!
