A marine biologist by training, Martin has worked at Hatfield for nearly 30 years, in a range of roles. His technical experience has focused primarily on water quality and ecotoxicology issues related to mining, pulp and paper, energy, and oilsands industries, including the design and implementation of effects-based monitoring programs, and environmental assessment and permitting. His clients include industry, government, Indigenous organizations, and international agencies and donor organizations. He has worked throughout western Canada and internationally, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region and especially Indonesia, where he has lived and worked multiple times. He has been a Senior Partner at Hatfield since 2004, and currently divides his time between senior technical oversight and corporate management roles.

Martin believes in the importance of volunteering in your local community, and supports his community of North Vancouver through participation in amateur sports associations, local municipal advisory committees, and non-profit boards.
