CIP Award for Planning Excellence – New and Emerging Initiatives
Jul 22, 2020
Hatfield is thrilled to announce that we are part of the winning team for the 2020 Award for Planning Excellence in the New and Emerging Planning Initiatives category, awarded by the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP). The CIP Awards for Planning Excellence honour planning projects judged on their excellence, innovation, impact on the profession, implementation potential, and overall presentation.
Hatfield was part of a team, along with Intelligent Futures and The City of Calgary, that delivered the City of Calgary Biodiverse Communities Initiative. The Biodiverse Communities initiative included development of a Habitat Restoration Manual, which provides concise and consistent processes for city staff when completing restoration projects, and a Community Involvement Guide that identifies ways to inform, educate, and engage the public in biodiversity issues and habitat restoration projects. Hatfield was the lead author of the manual and provided ecological discipline and geomatics support for the overall project.
