Hatfield Consultants wins award for corporate social and ethical responsibility

Hatfield Consultants, an environmental consulting firm based in West Vancouver, BC, has received the Nexen Award for Excellence in Corporate Social and Ethical Responsibility, at the Canadian Awards for International Cooperation in Fredericton, New Brunswick on May 23, 2007. This award, presented by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the Association of Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME), and sponsored by Nexen Inc., recognizes Hatfield’s integration of social and ethical considerations in their business practices, particularly in environmental and humanitarian projects undertaken by the company throughout the world, and particularly in Southeast Asia, over the past 20 years.
Hatfield also was selected as a finalist for a Special Recognition Award for Long-Term Commitment to International Cooperation, in recognition of the firm’s long-term commitment to sustainable development, accomplished though international projects.
Hatfield Consultants was established in 1974, and has offices and joint ventures in British Columbia, Alberta, Indonesia, Thailand, and Chile. The firm conducts projects for private, public, and non-governmental organizations throughout Canada and the world, with special expertise in fisheries and aquaculture, environmental monitoring and management, geomatics, communications and information technology. Hatfield has made significant contributions to international development in many countries of the world, working in over 38 developing countries since 1982.
