Hatfield recognizes National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day
Jun 21, 2023
Hatfield celebrates National Indigenous History Month each June, a month to recognize the history and heritage of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples. In addition, we recognize June 21 as National Indigenous Peoples Day. On this day and every day, we respect and honor the distinct culture, traditions, and resilience of Indigenous Peoples across Canada. As a company, we acknowledge that our head office is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), and the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations, and have ensured that Indigenous relations, reconciliation, and recognition is reflected in the way we plan and deliver our work, as affirmed in Hatfield’s Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation Policy. We have the utmost respect for the unique relationships that Indigenous Peoples have with their traditional and treaty lands and waters, and strive to seek opportunities to work together for the mutual benefit of Indigenous communities and the environment. For more information on National Indigenous Peoples Day visit the Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada website here.
