Hatfield releases the results of Agent Orange dioxin contamination in Viet Nam

On Monday April 30, 2007 Hatfield Consultants (Hatfield) released the results of their most recent study of Agent Orange in Viet Nam entitled “Assessment of Dioxin Contamination in the Environment and Human Population in the Vicinity of Da Nang Airbase, Viet Nam”. This study was designed to investigate the nature of residual dioxin contamination on the Da Nang Airbase and surrounding areas, and to develop mitigation measures to prevent future dioxin exposure to human populations. The report is generating significant international and local media attention.
Interviews with Thomas Boivin, the President of Hatfield, were aired on CBC Radio 1 The Current at 8:30 AM Monday April 30, and on the CBC Television National News and CBC Newsworld. The April 30th version of the Vancouver Sun featured complete coverage of the report.
Since 1992, Hatfield has been at the forefront of research, studies, and mitigation work related to Agent Orange Dioxin in the environment and human population of Viet Nam. Working closely with the 10-80 Division (10-80) of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and the Office 33 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), Hatfield has provided independent scientific advice on the Agent Orange dioxin issue. This groundbreaking scientific research has been instrumental in helping raise international awareness regarding the impacts of Agent Orange dioxin on the human and natural environment of Viet Nam.
