Hatfield welcomes Dan Bewley and Michael Choi to the partnership

Hatfield is thrilled to welcome Dan Bewley and Michael Choi to the partnership as Associate Partners, effective November 1, 2023.
Dr. Dan Bewley, PhD, joined Hatfield in 2009 as a technical lead in our Water Resources Group, bringing over 16 years of industry and research experience to the team. Dan’s expertise is in climate, hydrology and environmental flow data and modelling both in Canada and internationally. Most recently he is leading Hatfield’s work to support clients in addressing climate change risks and to meet new regulatory requirements, by tailoring climate change projections and incorporating climate change risks into all aspects of environmental assessment and data science. He is keen to help grow Hatfield’s climate change team which integrates the company strengths across all aspects of climate change risk assessment, adaptation, and stakeholder engagement. Dan brings a data-driven, highly technical approach to everything he does, making him a leader in data analysis techniques, innovation, and visualization at Hatfield.
Michael Choi, BSc, PChem, joined Hatfield in 2020 as a Senior Permitting Manager, providing leadership and consulting advice to clients related to environmental assessment, impacts and mitigations, permitting, and operational management and planning. Michael works with clients in a diverse range of sectors including mining, industrial, oil and gas, transportation, and ports. In addition, he has worked with and respects the importance of Indigenous Nations to sustainable and responsible development on their lands. Michael is passionate about Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) and the importance of integrated of environmental, social equality, and ethical development goals. Contributing to successful assessment, planning, permitting and compliance for mining, industrial facilities, and port projects, he is experienced in physical science studies (air, water, and soil) toward developing effective mitigations, effects monitoring, and adaptive management.
