PT Hatfield Indonesia is seeking a skilled environmental professional to join our technical teams based in Bogor to help us build a sustainable future for our company and our country. The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in the environmental sector and have the ability to work with and manage a diverse team of national and international staff. You will be proficient with national and international standards and hold a valid KTPA as an AMDAL team leader, with experience in permitting projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, mining and exploration, oil and gas, and renewable energy. You will possess the ability to develop business within your network, along our existing lines of business, or pursue new lines of work that align with our vision and mission as a company. You will also have a constructive network and be proficient with national regulatory agencies and regulations. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams to undertake projects related to environmental and social impact assessments, environmental and social due diligence against national and international standards, and other standards-compliant environmental studies.
  • Recommend, and develop appropriate studies and tools to address study-specific environmental aspects for a range of projects in the extractive and power sectors.
  • Conduct data analysis and present results through reporting, presentations, or other documentation.
  • Manage project team activities including preparation of project work plans, schedules, budgets, technical activities, and coordination of technical staff and sub-consultants to ensure efficient use of corporate and client resources.
  • Implement a robust QA/QC on project outputs to ensure the highest possible standards and ensure project outputs are completed on time, on budget, and to corporate standards and client expectations.

Education and Experience

  • Holds a minimum master’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a closely related field. A master’s degree from a reputable university will be an advantage.
  • Minimum ten years of experience in managing and implementing projects related to development and processing environmental documents under applicable Indonesian regulations in environmental permitting and impact assessment – i.e., analisis mengenai dampak lingkungan AMDAL, UKL-UPL, SPPL, and RKL-RPL addendums – and international standards – i.e., ESHIAs, ESDDs, environmental management and mitigation, and other services – preferably in a consulting environment and with a demonstrable track record of increasing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates the ability to independently manage the full AMDAL permitting process, including AmdalNet submission, Environmental Feasibility Approval (SKKL), and facilitation of FGDs and technical meetings with the Ministry of Environment (MoE/KLH).
  • Has proven experience in independently leading PERTEK studies and securing regulatory approvals, including wastewater discharge permits, air emission permits, and hazardous waste (Limbah B3) management approvals.
  • Experience in strong hands-on in independently leading PKKPR/L processes prior to AMDAL preparation, including coordination with relevant spatial planning authorities.
  • Has demonstrated experience in regional AMDAL implementation, particularly for Oil and Gas sector projects in the Papua and Aceh provinces
  • Experience implementing projects compliant with international standards or safeguards, i.e., International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards and World Bank Environmental and Social Framework.
  • Experience in developing studies and approaches for clients to achieve compliance with national regulations and international standards for environmental and social risk management.
  • Experience operating in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and teamwork; and an ability/interest to work in the field, occasionally in remote locations for extended periods of time.
  • Experience providing mentorship to technical and non-technical team members.

Other Assets/Skills

  • Holds a valid and active KTPA (Certified AMDAL Team Leader) and has successfully led at least 7–10 AMDAL studies as Team Leader.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to provide sound judgement when problem solving.
  • Exceptional project management and prioritization abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently, sometimes remotely for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to support business development and marketing activities.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, with the ability to lead technical discussions, prepare professional reports, and communicate effectively with clients and government authorities.
  • Possess a growth mind set, with a positive “can do” attitude.
  • Possess a strong professional network and working relationship within the Ministry of Environmental Directorate and SKK Migas of Preventing Environmental Impact of Business and Activities, and the regional environmental offices, will be an advantage.
