Alexandra Kamprath – BSc Biology – Environmental Technician
Alexandra initially joined our Calgary office in the spring of this year on contract and is now fulltime in the Infrastructure and Environmental Management team. Her career has focused on conducting aquatic and riparian habitat assessments throughout Western Canada. With a degree in Animal Biology, Alexandra possesses a solid background in conducting limnologic and marine research projects. In the field, she has experience conducting: fisheries and aquatics assessments, wetlands and stream remediation projects, construction monitoring and fish rescue, biodiversity assessments, riparian health assessments, disturbance assessments and aquatic invertebrate sampling/lab identification. In addition, Alexandra has experience providing support to aquatic environmental assessments, technical reporting for provincial and federal approval, environmental construction operation plans and conducting DFO self-assessments for federal approvals.
Isabel McFetridge – BSc Natural Resources – Environmental Technician
Isabel has joined the Environmental Monitoring and Assessment team in our North Vancouver office bringing extensive field experience on many different projects involving pulp mills, groundwater monitoring at landfills, environmental effects monitoring for fresh and marine water, reporting, logistics, safety plans, and operational planning. She also has experience with ongoing monitoring projects including waterfowl surveys, ungulate telemetry, well water monitoring, bighorn sheep surveys, trout gillnetting and subsequent pathological assessment and otolith extraction. She has experience sampling water, algae, macroinvertebrates and vegetation as part of a pre-disturbance environmental assessment; audited bird deterrent systems (including long-range acoustic devices and cannons) on tailings ponds as part of the regulatory Waterfowl Protection Plan; monitored wildlife movements using remote cameras in environmental buffers and reclamation areas in and around active mines; and completed a terrestrial vegetation field program.
Jesse John – MSc Environmental Studies – Environmental Technician
Jesse has extensive fisheries and aquatics field experience including seining, electrofishing, fish identification, turbidity, benthic sampling, habitat restoration, water monitoring and invertebrate sampling. He has experience in construction monitoring and has worked with local municipal governments dealing with turbidity, fish and amphibian salvages and removals, sediment, erosion and bank stabilization issues. Jesse has also been an Operations Manager for a green roof construction project managing engineers, soil ecologists, landscapers and construction workers. As Jesse joins our Infrastructure Team in North Vancouver he is currently working towards his RPBio.
Leeann Muggeridge – BSc Engineering and Applied Science – Environmental Specialist
Leeann joins our Fort St. John, BC office from St. John’s, Newfoundland. Our Fort St. John office is one of our smaller offices therefore our local staff end up taking on a broader range of projects and responsibilities which is not new for Leeann. In her most recent role as an Environmental Lead, she managed large mining infrastructure projects and coordinated the associated remote fieldwork including air monitoring, site assessments, water quality for tailings and lakes, fish health studies, fish relocation, and benthic sampling and analysis. She also has experience working with drones for aerial studies and is currently working towards her MSc.
Lianne Leblond – BA Geography – Environmental Specialist
Lianne joins our Infrastructure team in our North Vancouver office. Lianne has extensive Project Management experience and most recently was the Environmental Manager for a 150-km transmission build in Newfoundland for the Maritime Link Transmission Project, and for the Big Silver, Upper Lillooet and Boulder Creek Run-of-River Hydroelectric Projects. She has experience working with heavy civil construction crews and implementing environmental management plans in the field including environmental reporting and the preparation of environmental compliance documents associated with federal and provincial regulatory and permitting requirements. She is used to working in remote offices where she supported field operations by implementing Environmental Protection Plans and overseeing daily onsite construction monitoring and environmental incident responses in the field. She has reported to both the Proponent and regulators while maintaining environmental compliance records. Lianne is currently working towards her MSc.
Marc VanderVeer – BSc Environmental Studies: Resources and Natural Systems – Environmental Technician
Marc comes to Hatfield with extensive environmental monitoring, sample collection and analysis, and experience with fisheries assessments, fish and amphibian salvages, ongoing environmental monitoring and managing sediment control. He also has experience monitoring construction projects including river and stream dredging. Marc has guided contractors by providing best practices and assistance in following regulations to ensure projects are not halted or delayed. Marc also has green roof management experience and worked with clients to determine the best soil, drainage systems and native plant choices. He was responsible for managing vegetation for use in riparian, mining restoration, and urban storm water mitigation projects related to ecosystem restoration, vegetation ecology and soil analysis. Mark joins our Infrastructure team in our North Vancouver office.
Nelson Sawatzky – BSc Biology – Water Resources Technician
Nelson joins our Water Resources team in Fort McMurray. Nelson comes from a strong background in agriculture, construction and environmental recycling. He is comfortable trouble-shooting, equipment calibration and managing a team. Nelson was employed at the Research and Development division in an agriculture tire company where he worked directly with clients and dealers to trouble-shoot and sell tires to the agriculture community in Saskatchewan. Nelson then moved to the sister company in Fort McMurray recycling tires from the mining industry as their Construction Foreman and Control Room Operator.
