Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to undertake projects related to environmental and social impact assessments, environmental and social due diligence against national and international standards, and other quality-driven environmental studies.
- Recommend, and develop appropriate studies and tools to answer study-specific environmental aspects within a range of projects in the infrastructure and extractives sectors.
- Conduct data analysis and present results through reporting, presentations, or other documentation.
- Manage project team activities including preparation of project work plans, schedules, budgets, technical activities, and coordination of technical staff and sub-consultants to ensure efficient use of corporate resources, preparation and editing of documents (proposals, reports, and geomatic outputs).
- Ensure QA/QC on project outputs to ensure the highest possible standards, and any additional tasks required to ensure that project outputs are completed on time, on budget and to acceptable corporate standards.
Education and Experience:
- B.Sc. in environmental management relevant fields. A Master’s degree from a reputable university will be an advantage.
- Minimum five years experience in managing and implementing projects related to environmental, social, and health impact assessments (ESHIA), environmental and social due diligence (ESDD), environmental management and mitigation, and other services, preferably in a consulting environment and with a demonstrable track record of increasing responsibilities.
- Proficient with national regulations regarding environmental impact assessments, and environmental permitting.
- Experience implementing projects complying with international standards/safeguards, i.e., International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards and World Bank Environmental and Social Framework.
- Experience in developing and recommending studies and approaches for clients to achieve compliance with international standards for environmental and social risk management.
- Experience operating in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and teamwork; and an ability/interest to work in the field, occasionally in remote locations for extended periods of time.
- Experience providing mentorship to technical and non-technical team members.
Competencies
- Experience in leading or managing ESHIAs, DDs, and/or environmental management planning and monitoring for projects in Indonesia.
- Experience in reporting and project management, using tools to track time management, budget management, and team management.
- Excellent analytic and research skills (leveraging a sound knowledge of scientific literature).
- Experience with designing and implementing scientific studies/field programs and managing field teams and the collection baseline data.
- Experience with preparing regulatory applications for approvals and possess a sound working knowledge of national and provincial environmental legislation.
- Experience operating in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and teamwork; and an ability/interest to work in the field, occasionally in remote locations for extended periods of time.
- Working knowledge of Indonesian regulations and international standards related to natural resources and infrastructure and extractives.
- Possess strong leadership, team management, and good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to support business development and marketing activities using modern networking
skills and able to leverage an existing network in the private sector, government, nongovernmental organizations and/or universities to develop new business opportunities. - Confident to undertake negotiation and mediation with senior decision makers, both
internally and externally. - Having a KTPA certificate would be beneficial.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
