General Description: As part of the dynamic Hatfield team, the Hydrologist will work within the Water Resources Group and will be responsible for implementation of hydrologic monitoring programs including study design, establishing monitoring stations and networks, statistical analysis, reporting, modeling and project management.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and lead field programs required for hydrometric and climatological data collection and monitoring.

Support on-going data management and reporting functions.

Support site selection and study design activities.

Conduct analytical projects including statistical and deterministic modeling.
Competencies:
-
Have a B.Sc. or higher degree, and appropriate qualifications for work in either Alberta or BC.

Have experience operating in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and teamwork; and an ability/interest to work in the field. Some field work may be required in remote locations.

Have demonstrated research and analytical skills (data collection, compilation and analysis).

Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written – including technical, scientific writing).

Have demonstrated reporting and project management skills.

Have demonstrated leadership abilities.
Education and/or Experience:
-
B.Sc. or higher degree in engineering or sciences with hydrology experience and appropriate qualifications for work in either BC or Alberta.

Familiar with the Alberta, British Columbia and Federal regulatory environments for construction projects would be an asset.
